Q - Will I need to find a ride to the camp for my son?

A - The Ensign Ranch is roughly 90 min away. Getting boys to and from the camp will be up to the individual wards to decide how they want to arrange travel.

The address and contact info for the camp is:

Ensign Ranch

(509) 656-2344

Q - What kind of adult supervision is provided during activties?

A - Boys will be divided into Houses of 8 to 10.  Each House will have two 5th year boys as House Leaders.  Additionally, each zone will have two adult leaders who will be with them at all times during quests.  All super and side quests will have skilled leaders who ensure safety of all participants.

If you'd like to know more about the quests, contact spencer.darrington@outlook.com.

Q - This is my son's first time away from home and he doesn't know other boys in the stake.  Is there a way he can have at least one buddy he knows in his House?

A - When you register, there is a place where you can request a buddy for your son.  We'll do our best to accommodate requests wherever possible to make a great camp experience for everyone.

Q - My son has food allergies, will he always have something to eat at mealtimes?

A - In addition to our kitchen staff, we are working to call a specialist to make sure boys with allergies have options. Please make sure you note your son's allergies in the registration form.

We'll publish our menu here as soon as it is available so you can plan for any special dietary needs.

Q - Will there be anyone on site to help with medical needs or help boys with administration of medications?

A - We will have a medical specialist on site who will address any medical needs and ensure that all boys take their prescribed medications.  Please make sure to note these medication needs in the registration form.

Q - The schedule is pretty general. What will the boys be doing?

A - The Book of Mormon themed camp this year is called Nephi's Quest which is loosely designed as an open-world video game concept with quests, side quests, power-ups, and NPCs. There is a lot planned for the week which the boys will discover each day.  We're keeping the details under wraps to enhance the fun and anticipation. If you'd like to know more, reach out to spencer.darrington@outlook.com.

There is an open water activity requiring a life vest and a climbing activity involving a belay.  Both activities will be closely supervised by skilled adults.  Participation is optional.

Q - Is there a packing list?

A - You can find the packing list here.

Q - If my son doesn't have a phone at camp how can I contact them if the need arises?

A - Contact Spence Darrington (phone number available in stake directory).

Q - Ensign Ranch is pretty big, how will boys get around to all these quests?

A - There will be LOTS of walking in Nephi's Quest (up to 5-6 miles per day). Please make sure the boys come with good walking shoes and a spill-proof water bottle. A small day pack to carry a few essentials is highly recommended.

Q - Can boys bring a phone?

A - Youth are requested to leave their phones at home as we want them to be fully engaged with the camp activities without distractions. Adult leaders will have their phones on hand if the boys need to be in contact with parents. If they wish to take photos, they are welcome to bring cameras, but be mindful there are some water activities and cameras could get wet.
